Curating shows for the rowdy, weird & experimental in Salford since 2008
TEST DEPT: REDUX
Test Dept were leading figures in British underground culture of the 1980s and 1990s. The group made raw, visceral music out of scrap metal and machinery from industrial wasteland and derelict factories. They created a percussive sound with a political edge performed live against monumental slide and film projections in recently abandoned industrial spaces.
Recent times have seen the epic ‘Total State Machine’ book and the ‘DS30’ film Installation for the AV Festival in Newcastle and subsequent tour of former coal mining communities in the north and Scotland. Now, following acclaimed live headlining events at festivals across Europe, Test Dept:Redux, the new live configuration featuring original founders Graham Cunnington and Paul Jamrozy along with Zel Kaute, Charles Poulet and visual artist David Altweger as their core, return to Manchester.
