LAUNCH EVENT

20.00 - 03.00   //  £12 FROM .....

This nights celebrates some of the incredible acts that we have had had the honour of putting on over the years. It showcases some of the most adventurous electronic artists currently producing and with it being a Fat Out night we could not resist brining Drunk in Hell back as no band makes our audiences loose it quite like the Drunks.

This night shows the diversity of what interests us as promoters starting with our roots as heavy DIY punk promoters through to our experimentation with audacious artists.

CUT HANDS

William Bennett’s critically acclaimed Cut Hands project will be headlining the Friday evening of the launch. A radical revision of Central African percussion, Bennett expertly mixes the rhythmic accents of Ghanaian and Congolese traditional music and charges it with the physical intensity of his original Whitehouse project, offering a ritualistic experimentation with brute percussiveness and darkly designed sound experiments.

SOURCE DIRECT

Source Direct were responsible for some of ’90s Jungle and D&B’s most groundbreaking, definitive productions. Ahead of an eagerly anticipated reissue schedule, SD will be represented by one half of the original duo, Jim Baker, with a DJ set of classics, unreleased dubs and new edits.

RUN DUST

Luke Calzonetti floored us not once, but twice last year with his snarling, sneering debut performances in Manchester under the Run Dust Moniker. A former member of Fat Out favorites Child Abuse, with this project, Doussier’s confrontational approach, whilst buried beneath analogue cacophony, can still very much be detected. Stacking the strafing sounds of polyrythmic techno atop crumbling, D’n'B battery, Doussier manages to infect the propulsive atmospherics with an almost Giallo score sheen, colouring the Kraut-rock circularity of the riffs with his vocoder gauzed voice that calls out to undead ravers, demanding more human flesh! Stygian black dance floor boogie for the bogey men.

DRUNK IN HELL

In our new culture of instant gratification, where music, as product and sound, is literally available at a click of a button, Drunk In Hell stand as an anomaly. With very little in the way of recorded output, and even less available to listen to online, the live event is easily the pinnacle, and often the only way in experiencing this band. It’s a point I’m sure these guys know…because live, there really isn’t any band playing ‘heavy music’ in the UK that can touch them. The have sharpened the pummeling craft to perfection; a cathartic nihilism drenched in feedback, dirge and controlled barbarity.
