SCHEDULE INCOMING

After plans for the return of Fat Out Fest after a 3 year hiatus were postponed to 2021, we started plotting about how we could still make all the noise whilst living through the apocalyptic nightmare that is 2020. In partnership with IMPATV we will be bringing you 3 days of performances, local divas, queer rituals, film, panel talks and more weird transmissions.

The festival will open with a brand new commission from Birmingham-based trio of noise makers, PRETTY GRIM, who were selected from our open call residency. Working with queer experimental music and art platform Queef, Pretty Grim will be developing a brand new immersive AV experience to be premiered on Friday. It will be followed by a

4-hour afterparty with Glasgow legends OPTIMO.

Saturday is a celebration of the North, with a regional line-up featuring LONE TAXIDERMIST'S new show MARRA: a deep interrogation into the dialect and ceremonies of West Cumbria, from auctioneers to gurners. ICEBOY VIOLET will be twisting grime and trap into lush and warped ambient melodies, whilst violinist and loop pedal artist REBEKAH REID combines classical string techniques with electronics and jazz. Plus a special performance from poet Lauren Bolger’s (Locean, Water) new band Burn into Sleep.

Saturday afterparty is co-curated by Bollox, Body Horror & Creatures of Catharsis. Expect queer magic, exotic go-go dancers, drag, gore and Halloween mayhem soundtracked by a live performance from ADULT ENTERTAINMENT plus HIGH HOOPS, BLEACHING AGENT and more TBA.

On Sunday, we invite you to nurse your Halloween hangover with stories of joy, unification and queer power. The day’s broadcast includes a screening of KEYBOARD FANTASIES: THE BEVERLY GLENN-COPELAND STORY. There will be panel discussions, debates & Q&A’s including a talk curated by Decolise Festival, a presentation of the short film QUEER ALL ABOUT IT: HIV 30+ YEARS OF CHANGE, KOOKIE BLUE: THE MILL DREAM and much more TBA.

So please join the ritual and together warn off 2020.

Pray for a time when we can all reunite and push each other round the dance floor whilst listening to ear bleeding riffs.

But until then we invite you to tune in, turn your home into a venue and join us on a sonic journey as we navigate the unknown.
