FAT OUT’S BURROW @ Islington Mill.

Really exciting times ahead in the world of Fat Out. After 10 years of in house programming, Islington Mill are now offering the event space to be run and managed by promoters of choice to lead on a programming residency and the inaugural residency has been offered to us!

As of the 1st May 2015 the Event Space in Islington Mill will become FAT OUT's BURROW as we embark on two year programming residency. We are taking the reigns with excitement as we become solely responsible for the events programme and venue management.

We are launching our new BURROW with a six day run of events to showcase the direction we are taking the events programme at the MIll, with performance from Cut Hands, Dan Deacon and James Blackshaw, and collaborations with Now Wave, Gesamtkunstwerk, Grey Lantern and Muto. Jermyn MTK and Tasha Whittle (Colouring Box) will be our artists in residence over the launch with their artwork becoming the new walls of The Burrow. Each six months we will commission another artist(s) to propose new visual direction and thus set the theme for the following phase.

It has been a long standing dream of ours to have our own venue; total autonomy in programming and also managing a platform to engage with new artists, collaborators and the community. We are incredibly grateful to have been given this opportunity by Islington Mill and already we are so excited by what we can do with the space.

Our love affair with the Mill began six years ago when we first got involved with Sounds from the Other City in 2009, hosting our own stage at the Rovers Return. Since then we have had some our favourite shows at the MIll; Boris, Wolves in the Throne Room, Russian Circle, Charles Hayward, Dope Body (too many to name) as well as our flagship event Fat Out Fest (2011, 2012, 2014). This building is so special to us and were glad there stuck with us for at least the next 2 years.
